Professional Development Series: Teaching for Social Justice

Join fellow charter school educators and expert scholars for a series of workshops planned by teachers, for teachers. Gain practical knowledge. Network with other charter teachers. Develop your skills as a professional educator and learn how to provide your students with the education they need to close the achievement gap.

Sessions include “Keeping Authentic Education Alive in the Age of Standardized Tests,” “Action Research: Inquiry into Teaching and Learning,” “Bridging the Achievement Gap in Charter Schools,” and “Trust and Community: The Foundation of a Good School.”

The series is offered free of charge by the UFT and is open to all charter school teachers in all grades and subjects. All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of their workshop.

Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and are held on Saturdays on the second floor of the UFT’s Manhattan Headquarters at 52 Broadway. Lunch is provided.
